Recap
So today I found out I didnt' get the job @ ITServices UBC. I'm a little upset (the pay is $15/hr), but @ the same time excited to try out being a driver @ Hertz. My friend told me he got to drive Mercedes and other luxury vehicles around the city. What fun! And if I get hired in the summer, I'll be cruising the Vancity streets on bling. Ha ha ha.
Yesterday I signed the insurance papers for the Civic, so now I legally own the Civic. Then, I went over the Drew's and learned the riff for Talk.
Monday, got home, relaxed.
Sunday was pho with the church guys. Good time and good food. We've been going to this pho place on Main for years and I still don't know what it's called. But it has great pho.
Saturday went over to Drew's to watch the hockey game and a Korean war movie. Brother of something (when translated). More gory than Saving Private Ryan. The pacing was horrible, it was full of cheese and battle sequences that dragged on for hours (ok, not hours, but they were plain long and unnecessary), followed by slow mo sequences and emu.
It basically tells the story of 2 brothers forced in to the Korean war. 1 brother eventually betrays S. Korea and goes and fights for the Commies, and dies as one. The other brother goes home to his mother. And scattered inbetween is a badly written love story, and battle sequences which looked like they were filmed in a high school gym. (Props also looked like props from an elementary school play).
Editing and pacing was horrible. Horrific battle sequences were intersperced with talk sequences. After a talk sequence, the film would cut to a scene where soldiers were running and shooting and dying. It's like talk talk talk talk BAM! someone dies. The movie could have worked better if it was made up of ALL talk sequences and no fighting or gore.
It was a crappy movie. ** (2 stars)
Friday was fellowship; nacho night. Mmmmm. Caleb made eggcellent avacado dip.
Thursday.........was guitar. Calvin dropped by and played some NHL. Nucks vs Nucks. He won. I tried the same game. I lost 8-4 or something like that. What the deal?
